gutter mutter
Monday, May 28th, 2012pentacostal musing
a gentle reminiscing
to treat the temple body well
for that’s where the Spirit and Trinity dwell
a ringing bell
to stray from hell
our mortal walks serve a compelling tell
the only earthly thing to give, not sell
a visit to père lachaise
reminds life as game of chess
there will be pieces that have more or less
death equalizes achievements and mess
whether a life dying for attention
or a life full of piaf tension
la vie en rose
in silent repose
a life fleeing from temptation
a life seeking sweet redemption
closing with sobering epigram wild
from the “importance of being earnest,” oscar wilde
“we are all in the gutter,
but some of us are looking at the stars.”
all of us leave earth eventually with some scars
that’s all i pant-pent muster mutter
goodbyes are the law of earth;
reunions are the law of heavenly mirth…
