summer solstice
all day fête de la musique in Paris
while the world dances and sings, i choose to snooze
time to still my heart and mind instead of musically street-cruise
why, with 4321 iTunes and youtube, there’s no music to lose
there’s lots to muse and ruse
with cnbc, cnn, bbc blaring troubling trends
nations – one by one, economic crisis descends
there’s no golden fleece in greece
so many hands to grease
the gaps between have’s and have-nots increase
meanwhile, have we forgotten nature and earth to please?
one day you’ll find that I have gone
but tomorrow may rain, so I’ll follow the sun
